…and it feels like I’ve been losing a lot lately. #&%~*@$%!*.
Finding yourself is a similar process to finding gold. You have to try and fail and try and fail again. Then when you catch a glimpse of it, you have to hold on to it and filter out everything that isn’t gold. Anything that isn’t you or that is hindering you in any way must be washed away so that you can finally shine at your brightest and most importantly, you can finally see and understand your worth.
Tom visited me yesterday who I blame for my moody behaviour these past few days. Although that can’t entirely be the reason. I guess part of it is due to the circumstance I’m in, that I’d rather not be in - I’ll leave it at that. So here I am, blogging - need to change my direction of thought!
Anyway, this past week or so I’ve been spending some quality time with my aunty who’s visiting from Ireland. I’m really going to miss her when she leaves, just the thought of her leaving makes me want to cry because she’s somewhat like an older sister I never had - she’s all sorts of cool.

Apart from all the eating, shopping and talking about “men”, she’s been nagging my sister and I to get our tattoos while she’s still here. She leaves on Sunday and I don’t think we’re going to be ready by then…
Which leads me to the Baybayin script (also known as Alibata although this isn’t the proper term). It’s a pre-Spanish Filipino writing system. I’ve had a fascination with it ever since I saw a tattoo in Baybayin on my cousins wrist when I went on a holiday to New York last year. Ever since then I’ve been casually researching the history of the script and it’s been really interesting. You can read up on the ancient script here and here.

“Faith” in Baybayin
I’ve found an experienced artisan whose style of writing I really like, and he’s currently in the process of designing something for my sister and I. I’m really excited! I really want to post some of his work on here, but I’ll leave that for another post :)
